From Huangpi to National Recognition: Our 50-Year Foundry Heritage
Established in 1972, Wensculp traces its origins to Huangpi, Hubei—renowned as the historic cradle of Chinese clay sculpture. As the pioneering private-sector artistic foundry in Hubei Province and a Council Member of the Art Casting Branch of the China Foundry Association, Wensculp has evolved into one of China’s largest and most specialized sculpture enterprises. Our 20,000-square-meter industrial park supports an integrated, end-to-end service model encompassing artistic design, sculptural modeling, fabrication, on-site installation, and long-term maintenance.
Wensculp’s legacy of excellence is highlighted by our 1985 invitation from the Hubei Provincial Museum to lead the restoration of ancient bronze cultural relics. Since then, we have executed numerous high-profile projects, including the monumental bronze relief Celestial Sounds (Tianlai) for the museum in 1996, and the “Phoenix Dancing in Chu Sky” float for the 60th National Day celebrations in 2009. We remain dedicated to the preservation and innovation of Lost-wax Casting—a recognized National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Our commitment to technological advancement is underscored by recent 2023-2024 patents, including advanced dust removal and precision drilling systems for specialized sculpture processing.
Wensculp serves as an official Strategic Educational & Internship Base for the prestigious Hubei Institute of Fine Arts (HIFA), Hubei Business College, and Wuhan Textile University. We maintain long-standing, collaborative partnerships with renowned academic professors and nationally recognized master sculptors.
