Subject Profile

Li Qibin (1936–2003) was a distinguished astronomer hailing from Yidu. A lifelong advocate for astronomical observation and science popularization, his monumental contributions significantly advanced China’s astronomical sector. He remains a preeminent icon of scientific achievement in his hometown. The pedestal features a formal gold-engraved inscription: Li Qibin, Astronomer (1936–2003).

Sculptural Rendering

The ensemble features a half-body figurative bust capturing the classic likeness of Li Qibin in a formal suit and spectacles. Our artists masterfully balanced a calm, resolute facial expression with the refined temperament of an academic. Meticulous detail is applied to the anatomical precision of the facial features, hair textures, and the realistic drapery of the suit and tie, achieving high-fidelity realism.

Architectural Pedestal & Durability

The bust is anchored to a monolithic dark polished granite pedestal. Its substantial mass provides a stable foundation while cultivating a solemn, commemorative ambiance. The typography is executed through a brass etching and gold-inlay process for permanent legibility. Engineered with a specialized anti-corrosion protective seal, the sculpture is optimized for permanent outdoor display, offering exceptional environmental resilience and minimal long-term maintenance.
