Utilize red Jiaodong paper-cut openwork—depicting fish, waves, and auspicious flowers—integrated within the silver-white frames to translate regional motifs into architectural textures.
Optimize for light and shadow effects, casting intricate paper-cut patterns on the ground while serving as a functional, shaded rest area for the public.
Design Philosophy
Draw from Rongcheng’s millennium-old fishing culture, capturing the classic moment of a fisherman casting his net to pay tribute to generations of local seafaring communities.
Integrate Rongcheng’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage (Rongcheng Paper-cut) with the imagery of fishing nets, incorporating the cultural symbols of “abundance” and “blessing” into the openwork to embody prosperity and the “Five Blessings of the Sea.”
Balance artistic value with practical functionality, serving as both a commemorative urban sculpture and a coastal landscape corridor that provides shade and resting space for the public.
